According to INSIVUMEH, rains will begin during the second half of May, except in Boca Costa and the Southwest where it will begin mid April and in the north at the beginning of June. Although there are reports that sowing has begun in some areas of Quiché and Totonicapán, the rest of the regions will gradually begin in May for maize and between May and June for beans.
